Fundraising Tips For Avon Reps

Tips for a successful Avon fundraising event!

We recently finished our first Avon fundraiser with the “Rory the Lion” campaign. Did you know that you will earn ‘double-dollars’ on all of your Avon fundraisers? We didn’t either, until a couple of weeks ago.

Two weeks before Rory the Lion was going extinct, Nick (my husband and business partner) and I were urged by our up-line to do a fundraiser. This was going to help us to get to the next sales level with our fairly new Avon business.

Needless to say, we have never done a fundraiser before and didn’t really know where to start.

We didn’t know how to go about it or even where to find the needed information. We learned by doing, and now you can learn from us!

Fundraising tips for Avon Reps

To start your own successful Avon fundraiser, log into YourAvon.com and click on the tab ‘Earnings Opportunities’ and ‘Fundraising’. Learn about the benefits of fundraising, such as 50% earnings and the ability to boost you to President’s Club or a higher level of sales achievement.

If you do a fundraiser during a ‘Double your Dollar’ campaign you will double your dollars twice during that campaign.

Go through these steps outlined on your Avon website:

  • Fundraising
    • Benefits of Fundraising
    • 1: Finding an Organization
    • 2: Choose your Programs and Flyers
    • 3: Register Your Fundraiser
    • 4: Manage your Fundraiser
    • Resources
    • FAQs

We didn’t do this ourselves, but it’s probably a good idea to have a signed agreement form with the group or organization you’re fundraising for.

Avon Fundraising Tips

You want to choose which kind of fundraiser fits YOUR agenda and time frame!

When it comes to choosing a charity to raise funds for you might be surprised to know just how many different groups there are. From field trips for schools, to new music equipment for your local church, there are many organizations that would be more than happy to get support to help their specific cause.

Maybe your local humane society is raising awareness for pets that are waiting for adoption. Trying to do an Avon product tie-in might be a little difficult, so think about which type of fundraiser you want to do.

We decided the stuffed animal would be the least complicated since there’s only one product, Rory The Lion. You could also do an Avon fundraiser with the following products: Anew minis, Moisture Therapy lotions, make up products, Skin So Soft bundles or Bug Guard.

Use the flyer provided by Avon or better yet, make your own. Creating your own flyer will make your fundraiser much more personal, and more people will be inclined to donate!

Here is a copy of the Rory The Lion fundraiser flyer we made:

Again, we had less than two weeks to run our fundraiser so we added an end date to our flyers. You can design your flyers any way you want, just keep the following tips in mind:

  • Make it bold and easy to read.
  • Don’t use fancy, scrolled font.
  • Use an eye catching, easy to recognize image.
  • Include all pertinent details and answer the following questions: What is the fundraiser for? Who is holding the fundraiser? Why should someone donate? How can someone donate?
  • If you want, include tear-away tabs at the bottom of the flyer with contact information.
  • Use a free online fundraising poster maker to help you create the perfect flyer.

Hand out your Avon fundraising flyers to people you know or post it in busy areas with a lot of foot traffic.

Some eateries, libraries and coffee shops have bulletin boards that you can use. You can go the traditional route and hang your flyers on telephone posts or post your flyer online and try fundraising on social media.

  1. You provide each participant with a flyer from which they will take orders. Participants also get a customer order form and a collection envelope.
  2. Each participant returns the order form and payment in the collection envelope to your or a contact person in charge at the organization.
  3. You collect the orders and submit them to Avon for processing via your normal ordering process.

Fundraising Money

As your fundraiser progresses you will take in donations, as well as money for your regular Avon orders. It’s best to keep the monies separate!

Depending on what kind of fundraiser you decided on, you will be responsible for taxes (unless your fundraiser organization is tax exempt) and the shipping fees. Be sure to have enough money on hand to cover both, if necessary.

Entering Your Fundraising Order

Log into YourAvon.com and enter your fundraiser as a completely new order at the end of the campaign (do not include it with your regular Avon product order).

The 6-digit number for your Avon Fundraiser is > 045-642

Avon Fundraising Tips – Use your own name as the customer and enter all the products under one customer. You should have all your customer/quantities already written down.

If you enter a different customer for each than you will have to pay an additional $1 fee per customer you enter.

Create a new order:

How to enter an Avon Fundraiser Order

Enter the Product Number and then click on the ‘Search’ button next to the Qty field.  The below Pop-Up page will come up.

How To Place Avon Fundraiser Order

Make sure you have the correct Campaign number selected, then Search or Enter Description or Product#. It will send you back to the previous screen (see above) where you enter your quantity.

Go on to the next product line to repeat the process, if necessary. So, in our case the 045642 is the fundraiser code and 815794 is the product number for Rory.

The more products you sell, the more product numbers you will enter.

Hi! I’m new to Avon Just started about 2 weeks ago. I want to do a fundraiser but don’t know how to get it going or what to do. I’m anting to do on with Avon & the American Cancer society.
would you be willing to help me out, or give me guidance to what I need to do?

Hi Beth, The best way to learn the ins and outs about Avon and Fundraising is to take the online courses through the Avon University. I’m sure a few things have already changed since my own fundraisers. It is super important to share your own fundraiser online and with all of your friends, customers and quite simply, everyone you talk to during that time period. I wish you the best of luck!
